Dear Senator/ Congressman/ Congresswoman:
Recently I (or a contingency from our Local or National
Council) visited your office in Washington, D.C., and left an informational
sheet (copy attached), which highlighted a number of concerns regarding pending
restructuring at the EEOC.
I am following up to urge you to make sure Chair Cari
Dominguez answers tough questions about the Agency’s $5 million request
for “Workforce Repositioning,” at EEOC’s CJS House Appropriations Oversight
Hearing, scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on March 26, 2004, H-309 Capitol. We need your assistance in stripping this
request, contained in the EEOC’s “FY 2005 Performance Budget.” Alternatively, the repositioning request
should be itemized by project and subjected to additional oversight
hearings.
I live in
(City/state). I am an (job title/position) in the EEOC’s (name office)
Office, which serves (describe geographic area). I am also (a member or officer) of Local_____ of the National Council
of EEOC Locals, No. 216, AFGE. Local

I would very much like to meet with you, or if your busy
schedule does not permit, a member of your staff, to discuss our concerns and why
we believe oversight is so necessary. Please contact me at (number) so we can
schedule an appointment. Thank you for
your assistance in this matter.
Sincerely,
